Transfiguration of Us and Creation
The above image is “Transfiguration,” by Montana artist Linda McCray
On the final Sunday before Lent, we always read the story of the Transfiguration of Christ. This is the end of Epiphany season, and since Epiphany means “showing forth light,” this story is the ultimate example of that. This year, my church is undertaking a parish-wide focus on Beloved Earth during Lent, so my sermon on this Sunday leading into Lent was inspired by my friend John Gatta’s book, The Transfiguration of Christ and Creation.
